Purple Thai Strain Characteristics

Purple Thai is 80 percent Sativa and 20 percent Indica, a Sativa strain. Its heritage is believed to be a combination of Highland Oaxaca Gold and Chocolate Thai; each of these varieties is landraces, a term that is used to define a strain native to a particular geographical region. Oaxacan Gold is native to the region of Mexico it is renowned for, and gives its consumers a heavy but relatively completely obvious high that became prevalent in America in the 1970s. Chocolate Thai was another strain from about the same period that, as you can expect, has a wonderful combination of chocolate and coffee taste, which is said to have been moved on to Purple Thai. As defined by its name, the appearance of Purple Thai is heavily dominated by its dark purple buds.

These arise due to anthocyanins called secondary pigments, and they make a beautiful addition to the buds’ loose, almost rectangular form. Its scent is not a show-stopper, but it appears to be very nice to smell what you can. The warm oaky tones that convert into a chalky chocolate scent will make you enjoy it. When the nuggets begin to ground up, their nutty coffee undertones quickly turn sweet. Like its predecessor Chocolate Thai, it does not boast the high-terpene levels, but much of its scent reveals how delicious this strain can be. Its smooth and nutty flavor is undone in the smoke by flowery and citrus undercurrents. The taste of lemon gives it a pleasant consistency that cuts through the other strong flavors of chocolate.

Purple Thai Strain Effects

Without a question, Purple Thai is a strong strain able to cause an extremely energetic, euphoric cerebral high. A properly grown plant can achieve at least 20% THC, making it an insanely strong specimen that is best prevented by newbies. Seconds after taking a hit or two, the calming effects swarm through the mind and body. In a moment, the atmosphere shifts to optimism and pleasure, which is one of the variables why it is known as a great strain of wake-and-bake. Not only does it offer physical activities with a boost of vigor, but it also encourages mental clarity and concentration. It can also unlock the artistic side, freely flowing imaginative concepts and opinions. For hours, the almost endless energy boost persists. Purple Thai makes for a great conversation topic in a casual environment or small social gathering. Its euphoric and mood-enhancing impact will leave you feeling positive, sociable, and a lot more talkative. The elevation may be intense and deep, based on the dose. In certain cases, auditory and visual disturbances may occur in the altered state of consciousness and it is likely that the extreme stimulus may change to introspection rather than a concentrated elevation.

An immediate advantage of the stimulating high of Purple Thai is that it can mitigate the effects of exhaustion while possibly relaxing the nerves and melting the tension away. Purple Thai is said to have a variety of therapeutic formulations that, while relieving the crippling effects of anxiety, can avoid symptoms of depression. The treatment of pain conditions such as arthritis, Crohn’s disease, and multiple sclerosis, is said to be highly effective. After sampling this strain, it’s normal to feel far hungrier. This will help cancer patients, like lack of appetite, nausea and vomiting are adverse effects of chemotherapy. Purple Thai could also help a queasy stomach calm down. There may be some adverse effects in terms of its therapeutic potential. One of the most common ones is cottonmouth, dry lips, and blurred vision. The high THC levels can be too overbearing in excessive doses, feeling anxious or paranoid.

What Growers Need To Know About Purple Thai Strain

Purple Thai is ideally suited to a warm environment with parent strains originating from Thailand and Mexico, growing extremely well in areas with plenty of sunlight and humidity. It has the capacity for vigorous growth when grown indoors, given that there is a combination of sufficient vertical space and strong HID lamps. The height of this plant poses one critical problem in a conventional set-up. The luminous source decreases considerably the further away from the lighting fixture the bud locations are, leading to poorly formed buds in the lowland regions. This problem is solved by installing side-mounted lamps, although it can give rise to another issue: extreme temperatures. The use of the Screen of Green training method is a safer approach. This method involves designing a mesh screen on the plant canopy and then moving the branches to form locations of buds that are uniformly spaced. It’s an inexpensive set-up in that extra lamps other than the primary HID light is not needed. More specifically, a yield of 2.13 ounces per square foot will contribute to this. For the long flowering period, which takes 11 to 13 weeks, such a plentiful harvest more than compensates. Outdoors, in ideal conditions, each plant can produce up to 35 ounces. The harvest duration typically falls from the last week of October to the first week of November.

Bought 10 seeds pack. I did not prepare anything so I prefer to grow at the backyard. So i just put in the wet soil. At the 3rd day, It all popped up. Quick to grow. On its 2nd week, the plant grow bigger. Not supplied her with nutrients but the plant looks healthy. Good yield! I guess, I will just wait for the harvest day. Cheers!
