Cannabis Seed Germination Using Rockwool Cubes

Whatever type of method you will use for germinating your cannabis seeds, do it properly because any mistakes during the germination process will affect the harvest. Improper way of germinating the seeds will decrease the germination rate. The most common method of germinating weed seeds is through the paper towel method in which the paper towels are sprayed with water before seeds are placed. Aside from the paper towel method, marijuana seeds can also be germinated using rockwool cubes. In using rockwool for seed germination, the process is almost the same with the use of paper towels. Rockwool cubes need to be wet before placing the ganja seeds.

How to use rockwool cubes for germinating pot seeds?
Rockwool can be purchased from hydroponic stores and local garden shops. Choose small rockwool cubes since they are easier to handle than bigger ones. When the rockwool slabs are not yet soaked in water and are still dry, avoid inhaling the fumes because this may be harmful to your health. Before germinating the cannabis seeds, soak the rockwool cubes in water for several hours. Make sure that all parts of the cubes are immersed in water. When the cubes are already containing enough amount of water, put the pot seed in the hole of the cube and push it using tweezers until it gets to the bottom. Do not hold the seed using your hands to avoid the seed being contaminated. If you have bought rockwool cubes with no holes on them, make a hole using a toothpick. After all the marijuana seeds have been positioned into the holes in the rockwool cubes, wait for a few days and you will see that some roots are starting to come out.

Getting the marijuana seedlings from the rockwool cubes is not quite easy. This method of germinating pot seeds is recommended if you are planning to grow marijuana plants in a hydro set-up.

Do marijuana seeds need to be germinated?
Marijuana seeds must be germinated first before they can be transferred to the growing medium. Unlike cultivating marijuana starting from clones/pot cuttings, growing from seeds will require you to go through the process of seed germination. Whatever kinds of pot seeds you are growing (indica, sativa, feminized or regular), you need to germinate them and only transplant them to your chosen medium once they have reached at least a few inches tall. The amount of yield and the rate of growth of the marijuana plants are affected by this process. Excellent harvest would always start from proper and successful germination of marijuana seeds.
